Some packaging paper is recyclable, but not all of it is.

Non-Recyclable Packaging Paper

Food Packaging Paper: This category of paper is typically used for "wrapping" items in the food and beverage sectors-examples include food-grade parchment paper and base paper for candy wrappers. Because these papers may have come into contact with food, and to ensure food hygiene and safety, they are often designed for single use and are generally not suitable for recycling.
Single-Use Packaging Paper: In addition to food packaging paper, other types of single-use packaging paper-such as certain disposable paper bags or sheets used for temporary wrapping or product protection-are also typically excluded from recycling systems.

General Packaging Paper and Cardboard: These materials are commonly used to manufacture shipping boxes, dividers, paper bags, and cartons. Examples include paper bag stock, kraft paper, crepe paper, striped kraft paper, kraft cardstock, linerboard, containerboard, corrugated cardboard, and honeycomb cardboard. Provided these materials remain uncontaminated and clean, they can be recycled.
Specialized Functional Packaging Paper: Although these papers possess specialized properties-such as oil resistance, moisture resistance, or rust prevention-they can still potentially be recycled, provided they remain uncontaminated and relatively intact. However, whether they are specifically accepted for recycling depends on local recycling policies and the requirements of the local recycling facility.

Recycling Guidelines

When recycling packaging paper, ensure that the paper is free from contamination (e.g., oil stains, water damage, etc.) and, whenever possible, keep it intact.

Recycling policies and facility requirements vary by region; therefore, it is advisable to familiarize yourself with local recycling regulations before disposing of packaging paper.
